PGA Professional, Scott Bentley, signs
on with Landmark Golf to manage The Golf Club of California
Fallbrook, CA - Northern San Diego County ~ PGA Golf Professional,
Scott Bentley, has accepted the position as the General Manager
/ Director of Golf at The Golf Club of California. Bentley, a San
Diego native and twenty-five year veteran of the golf business,
was hired by Landmark Golf’s Vice President of Operations,
Ed Schiller. “We are very excited to have some one with Scott’s
background opening our new project” remarks Schiller. He adds,
“Scott will be responsible for opening and then managing all
phases of the operation while concentrating on selling our unique
Corporate Membership plan”. The Golf Club of California represents
Bentley’s fifth venture opening a new facility.
The Golf Club of California is located in Fallbrook on the foothills
of the San Luis Rey River Valley. The 18-hole, championship golf
course features mature oak, sycamore and eucalyptus trees, meandering
creeks and acres of natural open space. The gentle foothills provide
challenging elevation changes creating beautiful backcountry views.
According to Bentley, “the course offers a magnificent natural
setting and eighteen unforgettable holes with wonderful shot values
requiring the use of club in the bag”. The course, designed
by Wade Cable and Johnny Pott of Landmark Golf, has been
completely constructed and is currently in the “grow-in”
phase. It is expected to open to its exclusive membership in April
2002.
Opening as a private facility, The Golf Club will offer a Family
Membership option but will be focusing on its exclusive Corporate
Membership Program. Designed to cater to the corporate world by
offering an open guest policy, corporate casitas for overnight retreats
and a full service clubhouse featuring conference rooms and a business
center along with the standard amenities. “The Corporate Membership
is a wonderful opportunity for companies to take advantage of the
golf club environment to conduct all types of business,” claims
Bentley. “With this caliber of a golf course, our amenities
package, a very attractive pricing schedule and the “Landmark
Golf Experience”, this membership is a very exciting venture”.
The Membership Program will be guided by the Club’s Advisory
Board consisting of: Chairman - Robert Wagner, Johnny Bench, Wade
Cable, Rick Dees, Bill Devane, John Elway, Larry Gatlin, General
William Lyon, John Schroeder, Ed Marinaro, Dr. Gil Morgan, Don Ohlmeyer,
